This place used to be in North Kingstown, and I was a frequent customer for take out. They were always friendly and the food was hot and on time when I got there..The food has always been good, but make no mistake about it, it was just average take out Chinese compared to real good sit down places like Cathay Garden in EG, or Chen's in Wakefield...The egg roles, dumplings, fried rice, etc, were never close to the same quality, but for the price, which was always lower, it was filling and satisfying...Unfortunately when they moved to Exeter they greatly increased their prices. I mean as much as $2.00 or more on appetizers and combo plates. (The fried dumplings went from $5.00 to $7.50, and their egg roles are pathetic, for more money). But the food quality has remained exactly the same.. They used to be worth it for the lower price making a good balance, but not anymore...You will pay the same price here now as you would a higher quality Chinese place... Very disappointing actually for a long time customer of theirs.. In conclusion,. this place fills a nice void in the Rt 2 area of Exeter that has no other Chinese places close by. It may be worth it for someone that lives close and doesn't feel like going to Wakefield or EG. But with the big price increase and no change in the quality of the food, they are not worth it for me anymore...

I have had several things on the menu and I have yet to be disappointed. I love that this is right by my house and that the food is always fresh and the prices are very good.

Always a good choice for Chinese takeout - coming from New York, this is a pretty close representation of the takeout Chinese I was missing...my food is always ready in 15 minutes, they know me by my order, and have never screwed an order up!

Rhode Island seems to have a shortage of Chinese takeout places. There are a lot of "upscale" Chinese places, but few greasy, everything made in under 10 minutes joints. Well, Taste of China is just that! The food is good, and exactly what you expect from a Chinese takeout place! I have had a few different items from the menu and they are all great! The spring rolls were crispy and delicious. The fried dumplings were good, but could have been cooked a little more. The people who work there are super friendly and make sure you get what you order and enjoy it!

We adore this place. The owners are phenomenal. They truly care about their food. I can't be certain but everything seems to be made from scratch. They've recently moved to Rt 2 in Exeter. The new place is very nice, much better atmosphere. It's quite a hike for us, but absolutely worth it. The food is a nice midway between the Americanized Chinese food that I love and fresh ingredients more suited to authentic Chinese food. Everyone can find something they like here.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
